Day 15 and Day 16 ~ South Coast Rock Tour

South Coast Rock Tour
~ Day 15 and Day 16 ~

Austin Family…Brenham Family…Houston Friend…San Antonio.

Greetings Friends! I’m going to combine these two days together and although there was much that happened within each of them, this post will be brief and bullet-pointed. I oscillated in doing this, for I don’t want the experiences of these days or the beautiful people met along the path to be brushed over. There was quality time with family, intentional time with friends, and metaphorical time with strangers. Sometimes one doesn’t have to use many words to describe something of impact. Such is the case with Day 15 & 16.

Wednesday:

~ Drove to my cousin Jill’s house in Austin
… Spent 3 hours with Jill and son Marcus
… Jill is a woman of wisdom and compassion
            … “Family” rock
… Marcus is a singer who is discovering his path
            … “Peace” rock

~ Left Austin (hard) and drove to Brenham, Texas

~ Spent time with my cousins Jeff and Stacie
… Their 1903 house is beautifully original with stellar restorations
… They are intelligent and love their family
            … “Legacy” rock

~ Drove to Houston, Texas
… Downtown drive thru (dark atmosphere)
… Power outlet blew out in my truck
… Slept in Tumbler at a Walmart

Thursday:

~ Found an AutoZone to address power outage
… Lady named Simondra helped me
… Fixed Tumbler with a simple fuse replacement
… Found out some of Simondra’s story
… Awesome metaphor came from Simondra and a simple fuse
… “Maintain a mountaintop attitude even in the valley” rock

~ Met my friend Amy in Houston
… Funny, because we live near each other at home, but rarely connect
… Amy is a talented dancer who has a passion for movement
… We had lunch together and walked in a break from the afternoon rainstorm
            … “Serenity Prayer” rock

~ Not feeling a peace about Houston, so I moved on (might return later)

~ Very dangerously windy drive at night to San Antonio

~ So hard to leave Austin and emotions are still being processed

~ Walmart Hotel
